Sainsbury’s<\/a> has made a big change to its Nectar loyalty scheme<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If you find yourself in desperate need of groceries but can’t pop to the shops, you can now order the supermarket<\/a> essentials you need on Deliveroo<\/a>, without missing out on points.<\/p>\n

Nectar has now been rolled out to the takeaway delivery app to allow members to collect points when they shop with the supermarket on the platform.<\/p>\n

When placing an order with participating Sainsbury\u2019s<\/a> stores, shoppers will now have the option to input the card number registered to their Nectar account at checkout. <\/p>\n

You can then earn one Nectar point per \u00a31 on eligible products bought through Deliveroo.<\/p>\n

The loyalty scheme is not available through Uber Eats<\/a> or any other convenience platform yet.<\/p>\n

‘This integration is a massive win for our customers, who can now earn points on their Sainsbury\u2019s grocery orders, further establishing Deliveroo as the go-to destination for on-demand convenience<\/a> and loyalty,’ says Suzy McClintock, vice president of new verticals at Deliveroo.<\/p>\n

‘We are delighted to be welcoming Nectar, one of the UK\u2019s most valued and far-reaching loyalty schemes, to Deliveroo,’ she adds.<\/p>\n

Nectar now has 24 million members, making it the second-biggest loyalty scheme after Tesco<\/a> Clubcard, but it’s not the first loyalty scheme to partner with major aggregators.<\/p>\n

Co-op<\/a> began offering in-app Member Prices on Deliveroo, a year after doing so on Uber<\/a> Eats – a first for a UK supermarket. And Morrisons<\/a>’ loyalty scheme, More Card, was made available on Deliveroo back in March. <\/p>\n

For those who shop at Tesco, they’ve been able to collect Clubcard points on Woosh orders from the start.<\/p>\n

Your Nectar Prices<\/h2>\n

Sainsbury’s made another big change to its Nectar card back in July, announcing more accessible highly personalised Your Nectar Prices<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This offered shoppers discounts on their favourite products, but could only be accessed online or through the Smart Shop app or a self-scanner.<\/p>\n

Now, you can access the discounts in-store by swiping your Nectar card at the till, which could save you up to \u00a3150 a year.<\/p>\n
